Rawson Lake, Kananaskis

Blue skies, green forests, majestic mountain peaks.  We hiked to Rawson Lake with good friends recently and enjoyed a fine day of fresh air, exercise and camaraderie.  Does life get any better than that?

The trail head to Rawson Lake is about 1.5 hours drive from Calgary and starts at the Upper Kananaskis Lake.

A short walk along the larger lake leads to a trail winding uphill through the trees to a hanging valley.  A cascading stream can be heard but not seen as we neared the lake.

Peaceful and calm, fish jumping, the remains of winter snow, tall peaks around, green reflections, Rawson is a magical place.
